Craig Youngquist Construction

From a 40,000 sq. ft. historical commercial renovation to a 1200 sq. ft. Japanese inspired timberframe home, Craig Youngquist brings 35 years of building experience and passion for craftsmanship to each building project.

Having served the San Juan Islands for 16 years, Craig specializes in building unique, custom homes on challenging building sites, as well as remodeling, additions, and historic renovations. He pays particular attention to every aspect of the building process, from sitework through finish. The result is a finely crafted home that designer, tradesman, and client can all take pride in.

With 19 years of building experience in the harsh maritime climate of Southeast Alaska, Craig is well schooled in and knows the critical importance of a properly constructed building envelop that will keep the weather out, maintain the structural integrity of the house, and keep energy usage to a minimum. Two of his Alaskan projects were certified by Energy Rated Homes of Alaska, as well as earned Federal ENERGY STAR certification.

The opportunities to showcase his woodworking skills have resulted in numerous timberframe projects, custom cabinetry and built-ins, custom millwork, stair balustrade systems, as well as circular staircases. His work has appeared in Woodwork, Fine Woodworking, and Coastal Living magazines.
